Benefits for artists
Each building we manage we aim to make sustainable and self-supporting, all funds raised through events, activities or donations from artists for use of space are channelled back into the Project.
“In the past three years the Artspace group has delivered a number of innovative and high profile projects around the city providing a much needed resource for local artists and performers to create develop and show their work.”
Phillipa Haynes – Bristol City Council Head of Arts & Festivals
“We worked with Artspace Lifespace in 2014, It was a great experience, we found staff to be thorough professional and highly knowledgable in arts management, administration and understanding of the sector as a whole. Many left the session with a much clearer picture of how they could progress their plans to take over and manage arts spaces in Nottingham. The City Council has become interested in Artspace Lifespace’s model and workspace for artists is slowly growing.”
Kate Lockhart, Director of Development, New Arts Exchange Nottingham
We rely heavily on the energy and time invested by our core members and network of volunteers as well as the awareness and revenue raised from our audiences and regeneration services provided for our clients.
We would like to achieve more long-term support and accessible venues for creative community use and believe that this kind of recycling of vacant and under used space serves to enrich the cultural development of a city as well as improving the safety and community dynamics for local people.
