Nine Tree Studios 2006

Ahead of its time in what has since been hailed as Bristol’s new cultural quarter 'Stokes Croft', the Nine Tree Studios was an exhibition, studio and admin base for the project over the winter of 2006/07. The main gable wall which had been tagged and vandalised for years was painted with a mural by artist Xenz and quickly became an icon for what was to come in the Stokes Croft area.

Artspace negotiated with the private owner of Ninetree studios to house a short term project there over the winter of 2006 while the site was awaiting sale. It served to help establish the project and maintain momentum after the Audi Garages, prior to our partnership with Bristol City Council on Horefield Police Station.
